The Dukpa Living Heritage Festival is a vibrant celebration dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the rich cultural heritage of the Dukpa community.
The nearest airport to Alipurduar is Bagdogra Airport (IXB), located about 170 km away. Bagdogra is well connected to major cities like Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. From the airport, taxis and pre-arranged vehicles are available. The scenic drive to Alipurduar takes approximately 4–5 hours.
Regular bus services run from Siliguri to Alipurduar from the Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus. Both government and private buses operate on this route. Travel time is around 5–6 hours.
Daily trains run from Siliguri Junction to Alipurduar Junction (APDJ). This scenic route passes through forests and tea gardens. Check train availability on the Indian Railways website or other booking platforms.
You can also take a train from New Jalpaiguri (NJP) to New Alipurduar Station (NOQ). NJP is a major station with multiple trains to Alipurduar daily. This is also a scenic and preferred route.
From Alipurduar, proceed to Rajabhatkhao, complete the entry formalities of Buxa Tiger Reserve and continue driving to Santalabari. From Santalabari taxi stand, take a Maruti Omni to Zero Point (last motorable spot), about 1.5 km.
The hike begins from Zero Point:
• 2 km trek to Buxa (Festival venue)
• Additional 2 km to Lepchakha
